Murrel Scalf, age 66, of Livingston, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph - London. He was the father of Melissa Toothman of Livingston, Susie Scalf of London and Murrel Scalf of East Bernstadt, the brother of Hershel Scalf of Lily, Edna Robinson of London, Paul Scalf and James E. Scalf, both of Huntington, Indiana, Flora Hacker of Hillsboro, Michigan, Freddie Scalf of Louisville, Edith Jeffrey of Manchester and Linda Abernathy of Troy, Ohio.
Funeral services for Murrel Scalf will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Durham and James Wages officiating. Burial will follow in the Scalf Cemetery at Callaway, Kentucky.
The family of Murrel Scalf will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Monday.

She is survived by her husband: Murrel Scalf of East Bernstadt, her father and step-mother: James Harold Asher and Irene Cook, of Dalton, Georgia, four children: Tracy Lynn, Susie and Little Murrel Scalf, all of East Bernstadt, and Melissa Toothman and husband, Michael, of Livingston, eight brothers and sisters: Patricia Ann Dawson and Brenda Burkhart and husband Delbert all of East Bernstadt, Mary Bolding and husband Wendell of Huntington, Indiana, Gidget Kelly and husband Jason of Wabash, Indiana, Billy Asher and wife Carolyn of Waylon, Kentucky, James Elmer Asher of Berne, Indiana, Jerry Bolton and wife Vickie and Dwayne Asher and wife Cindy all of Dalton, Georgia, two grandchildren: Tanner Scalf and Boyd Lucas Scalf, one great-grandchild: Kyler Braden Scalf, all of East Bernstadt, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. She is also preceded in death by her mother: Pruddie Downey Asher, one son: Hershel Scalf, one sister: Clara Joyce Asher, and one brother: Brian Keith Asher.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Humfleet Scalf, who survives of Lily. He is also survived by five children, Candie Hensley and husband, Jerry, Hershel Scalf and fiancee, Mitzi, Thomas Scalf and Murby Scalf and wife, Kaci, all of Lily, and Dianah King of Berea, ten siblings, Edna Robinson of London, Paul Scalf, James E. Scalf, and Doris Curry, all of Huntington, Indiana, Flora Hacker of Hillsboro, Michigan, Nora Hershey, Lina Abernathy and Patty Bishop, all of Troy, Ohio, Freddie Scalf of Louisville and Edith Jeffrey of Manchester, twelve grandchildren, Trevor, Justin, Kaylee and Travis Scalf, Jalynn Browning, Chase Queen, Catelyn, Jakob and Joshua Kerns, and Matthew, Kaitlin and Kiaya Hensley, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
