Lee Scalf

Lee Scalf, son of John Scalf and Edeah Carlisle Scalf, was born about 18 10. Very little is known about him. He had seven children by 1845 according to depositions made to help get John Scalf, Sr.'s pension restored. The author has found several Scalfs that cannot be placed for certain in any line of the family and there is a possibility that some of these Scalfs are descendants of Lee, however, to name them as such would neither be accurate nor appropriate at this time. The author does believe that Lee Scalf went first to Tennessee after leaving Russell County, Virginia in the early 1840's. From Tennessee, it is thought that Lee Scalf went to Illinois and Missouri as part of a Tennessee Militia Company. Research into the Lee Scalf family is still going on at the time of the writing of this book.
